Bilingual ROTA Nanny / Educator - Austin, Texas (with regular travel)
Rotational shifts (7-day or 14-day rotations); 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, with flexibility to stay late as needed. You arrive when the child wakes for the day, and depart once they are asleep for the night. Overnight care is generally not required while on rotation, though could be requested on occasional or while traveling.
High priority will be given to candidates currently based in Austin, Texas.
Relocation assistance is available for exceptional bilingual candidates only.
Overview:
A growing family of three relocating to Austin this summer is seeking two education-focused caregivers for their one-year-old son. This role is centered on providing attentive, developmentally thoughtful care while fostering an environment of calm, consistency, curiosity, and educational growth.
The position is ideal for a nurturing, intellectually engaged caregiver who enjoys supporting early childhood development and guiding a child’s learning through intentional, structured play. While not required, candidates with a background in education, familiarity with the Shichida Method, musical ability (particularly piano), and fluency in Italian and/or Japanese are highly desirable.
This is a year-round role in a formal, fully staffed household. The parents are health-focused, working professionals. The family believes strongly in investing in the right mindset, work ethic, and balance of skills. Applications are welcome from both highly experienced candidates and those earlier in their careers.
Responsibilities:
Provide attentive, nurturing care for one child, ensuring safety and well-being at all times
Create weekly lesson plans and facilitate age-appropriate educational activities
Assist with light household tasks as needed, including regular but light support with dishes in the evening
Clearly communicate lesson plans, developmental updates, and any support needs to the Estate Manager and/or parents as requested
Arrive each day prepared, focused, and service-oriented; collaborate respectfully with household staff to support the family in a cohesive and thoughtful manner
Qualifications:
Minimum of two years’ experience in a nanny or au pair role
Strong communication, organization, multitasking ability, patience, and adaptability
University coursework in Child Psychology, Early Childhood Development, or Education (highly preferred, not mandatory)
Fluency in Italian and/or Japanese (highly preferred, not mandatory)
Ability to adapt to changing schedules and responsibilities, including travel
Willingness to travel with the family for vacations, events, or personal trips
Energetic, enjoys outdoor education; non-smoker (including vaping)
Valid US passport, or ability to obtain one shortly after start date
CPR and First Aid certified
Compensation & Benefits:
$90,000–$150,000 annually, depending on experience
