Private Family Chef
FILLED / SEARCH COMPLETE
Private Family Chef – Austin, TX
Priority will be given to candidates currently based in Austin, Texas.
A growing family (two adults, one child currently) relocating to Austin this summer is seeking an experienced Private Family Chef to prepare nutritionally balanced, gluten-free daily meals and support occasional in-home entertaining. This role involves preparing breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and desserts for the family, with thoughtful consideration given to health, quality, and consistency. There is one young child in the home, and familiarity with preparing food for infants and children is highly preferred, though not required.
This is a hands-on role for a polished, detail-oriented chef who enjoys working in a private household setting and takes pride in delivering elevated, health-focused meals. The right candidate is adaptable, proactive, and calm under pressure - someone who can manage daily meal execution while also planning ahead and accommodating occasional special requests.
This is a year-round position in a formal, fully staffed household. The parents are very health-focused. They are seeking a chef who will become a trusted, consistent presence in the home for years to come.
While you will be expected to prepare all meals for the family, you ARE NOT expected to have everything served fresh all the time. The family is perfectly happy with warming up leftovers and they often prefer them as they eat at odd hours - weekly batches of basic potatoes, plain vegetables and a protein or the like is great. They don’t need labor intensive meals all the time, just good nutrients ready heat up. They do expect at least one nice, fresh meal presentation each day however. You decide what makes sense for you, they are not picky, they’re just hungry, busy and they appreciate the Yum Factor.
